Designed for students interested in developing a functional use of Spanish for the professions (business, education, law, medicine, social work, etc.), from a Hispanic cultural perspective. Students will have an opportunity to practice and develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The Spanish-speaking world will provide the cultural context, and the area of business the content area. (Offered every fourth semester.)
In my Spanish 305 we learned about interviews, jobs, and more stuff about business. This class was designed to help us learn vocabulary in Spanish that will help us in the business world. We were also supposed to learn how to do great on an interview and even how to open our own business. The second day of class we talked about what we need to do when we have a job interview. We discussed about how we have to behave when we are in front of the interviewer. We also talked about what words we can use to describe ourselves and what words are not the best. We did a class activity to practice everything that we learned about an interview. For the activity, we chose a partner and pretended that one was the interviewer and the other one was the interviewee. We had to come up with a situation, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. In this class, we also learned about unions. We discussed what a union is and how we can form a union. It was interesting to learn about unions because they can be very useful in our lives. I actually learned that anyone can form a union, we just need to work hard and find the right people. This class was super easy but useful at the same time. I now know more vocabulary that will help me in the business world. The teacher was just amazing, he was funny and, the most important thing, he was prepared. I am glad I took this class with him.
